Links Rule Over Content
Powered by Max Banner Ads
It is often said that content is king. I am here to tell you that you’ve been told a bunch of malarkey, because the so called gurus you might be following is blowing smoke up places where it shouldn’t be blown.
I know this article is not what you are probably used to hearing about blog marketing but it’s true. Because they aren’t my sites, I won’t give their names. Here is the secret: content isn’t king, but one way links ARE!
I have taken it up. A new challenge. My client’s pages could not go to the first page of Google. I went to work to get it done.
I looked at the pages they already had on the first page and found myself wondering how the heck they were even on the first page. All of the content was extremely poorly written as if someone with no or very limited English speaking and writing skills had attempted to write the article. It is obvious that the work was not well written, unfortunately it is easy to tell that someone was using a content article spinning rewrite program to complete the task.
To highlight just how bad the previous SEO guy had done, he put these crappy pages up in some very competitive keyword markets somehow expecting them to rank highly. It was clear to me with only a moments glance there was no hope of that ever happening.
My kindergartner could do this with the free article spinner we downloaded in a couple minutes from download com.
This site was such a mess, with problems ranging from the absence of a site map to faulty internal links, that I don’t even know where to begin.
This is what seems to be clear from the results and that is if content was king then there is no way that Google should be showing those pages on the first page of any search. After doing my research, what were the results?
No matter whether they are from low quality websites, all had links to their domain. So then I looked at their sites that couldn’t make it to the first page of Google and found the Same non-English content but NO LINKS.
So I just copied the links from the other pages and in two weeks I was a hero in my clients eyes, due to the fact that they are now on the first page of Google for all the sites they hired my for initially.
My main goal was to raise their rankings faxed because most of these were crap domains. But once I had good rankings I then went back in and started building links from high quality domains.
They’ve entrusted their SEO needs to me, and I’ve found that the best way to maximize SEO using web 2.0 marketing blog tactics with lots of links.

Fresh Egg Launch Innovative Call Tracking for Google Analytics
Powered by Max Banner Ads
SEO and web analytics specialists Fresh Egg has developed a new conversion tracking application - CallTrackID™ - that enables telephone call tracking to be fully integrated with Google Analytics™.
In addition to email enquiries and e-commerce sales, telephone calls can now also be tracked, accurately identifying the referrer source for those telephone calls and relating them back to the online marketing activity. This innovative tool will prove of gigantic value to marketers who, in the current credit crisis, are under huge pressure to effectively track and measure return on investment. CallTrackID™ additionally enables SEO agencies to finally prove that those sales calls are due to the Pay-Per-Click advertising (PPC) or organic SEO work carried out as part of an integrated marketing campaign.
The Fresh Egg team has spent a lot of months working with a telecoms provider to create CallTrackID™. The application itself was initiated by analytics guru Nikki Rae and the Fresh Egg programming team. “We always found it frustrating when we could not analyse the success of a telephone call as part of a traffic conversion report, when telephone enquiries are arguably the most valuable conversions of all.” Nikki said.
CallTrackID ™ works by allowing the client to assign a special telephone number for sales/ information enquiries depending on the visitor’s route to the site. This allows enquiries to be tracked from various traffic mediums, including visitors who have taken a direct route to the site, via organic search or those who have clicked on a PPC link. Each telephone call is routed through a call management system that joins the call number with the pre-defined income route. CallTrackID™ then integrates the telephone call information in Google Analytics™ along with existing web analytics reporting data, allowing the provision of reports and recommendations that relate precisely to a client’s total online marketing activity.
