No matter if you use a blog addition, RSS feed, or simply post the articles yourself, this will equate to higher search engine rankings in the long haul because you are increasing the quality of your site.  This also will hurt the sites that have used black hat methods to get Google ranking, as most likely they dont have that much content of any kind - their hurt is your gain.
